A youth-led volunteer organization

Hearts 2 Hands

We believe small acts carry great weight: a lesson that sparks a child’s curiosity, a card that finds a lonely hospital room, a visit that says you are not forgotten.

Two groups. One kind of care.

We match volunteers with the children and the older adults who most need time, attention and company, and we train every volunteer before their first visit.

Children

Weekly sessions that give kids a patient, friendly person in their corner.

  • Hands-on medical learning: first aid, CPR, ethics and basic procedures
  • Arts, games and hands-on workshops
  • Mentoring from teen and adult volunteers

Seniors living with illness

Regular visits for older adults who are unwell and often alone.

  • Companionship visits and conversation
  • Music, crafts and storytelling
  • Handwritten cards and holiday visits

A word from the people who give their time

“Joining the youth led organization Hearts2Hands gave me tremendous amounts of opportunities to create an impact on topics I am passionate about. Through Hearts2Hands I was able to use my graphic design skills to help advertise a variety of workshops developed by the Hearts2Hands team, ranging from medicine to environmental education. I am very proud to be a part of this organization and I am excited to see where it leads to.”

Founder & CEO

Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve been curious about medicine and dreamed of becoming a pediatrician. I’ve always loved working with children, so I started Hearts 2 Hands to bring those passions together. With my co-founder, I create hands-on workshops that go beyond the classroom, like our Med Camp, where kids explore medical tools and practice CPR. I want every child to feel free to be curious and learn something new.

Co-Founder

Growing up around my younger cousins, I loved creating activities and seeing the joy they brought. I realized that some of life’s most important lessons aren’t taught in classrooms, so I co-founded Hearts 2 Hands to give kids a space to build real-life skills through hands-on fun. What began as a workshop making cards for hospital patients has grown into workshops across communities, and even the smallest experiences can make a lasting impact.

I joined Hearts 2 Hands to share my love for medicine, which started with watching Doc McStuffins and attending my first medical camp. I wanted to spark that same excitement in younger kids through our workshops. I started the Milpitas chapter to bring these opportunities to my community. I love working with kids, making medicine fun and accessible, and watching them discover a passion for something I love.

How volunteering works

You don’t need experience. You need reliability and a warm heart.
